Gender Equality Knowledge Hub

What is the Gender Equality Knowledge Hub?

The Gender Equality Knowledge Hub is the world's first resource center committed to advancing gender equality and fostering social change.

Our mission is to provide and share the latest reports, guidelines, case studies, policy papers, tools, courses, podcasts, and videos to empower individuals, communities, and organizations in their efforts to boost gender equality.

On the Knowledge Hub we feature a broad range of content produced by UN Women, but also other UN agencies, governments, and partner organizations.

We envision a world where gender equality is the norm, where everyone has equal opportunities, and where violence and discrimination based on gender are eradicated. Together, we can make a difference and build a future where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive.

UN Women's role as a pioneer in gender equality knowledge products

Engaging and empowering communities

We work with communities, religious and traditional leaders, influencers, and the media to promote gender equality and challenge harmful beliefs. Through education and advocacy, we foster positive social change and encourage inclusive practices.

National action plans

We work with governments  and countries to assist in the creation of national action plans focused on violence prevention, economic empowerment of women, and representation of women in leadership. These plans aim to establish positive social norms and involve many actors in the process, such as men and boys, and the public and private sectors.

Research and knowledge sharing

Our hub is committed to improving knowledge on effective strategies for achieving gender equality. We conduct and disseminate research to inform better policies and programs, ensuring they are based on what works in real-world settings.
