UNSILENCED: Episode 1 sheds light on the global prevalence of violence against women and the resilient voices of survivors working to shed light on these issues.

One in three women worldwide will experience physical or sexual violence at least once in their lifetime, a figure that has remained largely unchanged over the last decade. This violation of human rights impacts women and girls in every country in the world, across social and economic groups.

Through survivor accounts from Albania, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria and Timor Leste, UNSILENCED: Episode 1 sheds light on the global prevalence of violence against women and the resilient voices of survivors working to shed light on these issues.

About UNSILENCED UNSILENCED, a new documentary series from UN Women, takes viewers on a journey across 16 different countries in six regions of the world to shed light on the continued magnitude and harmful impacts of violence against women and girls across the world. The series, narrated by UN Women Goodwill Ambassadors Nicole Kidman and Marion Reimers, serves as a call to action in the global movement to eradicate violence against women and girls.
